A father who shot and killed his daughter’s ex-boyfriend in southeast Houston on Wednesday night will not bring charges, police said.
A woman told her mother Wednesday that she feared her ex-boyfriend, who had assaulted her in the past, was looking for her despite a warrant for protection against him, Lt. R. Willkens of the Houston Police Department. The young woman decided to stay with her parents in their home on the 3200 block of Airport Boulevard.
When she arrived in front of the house around 11 p.m., her perpetrator stopped behind her and blocked her in the driveway, Willkens said.

Both parents came out while the man shouted swear words and refused to leave. When the ex-boyfriend aggressively approached the father, the father feared for his family and fired two shots from his pistol, hitting the assailant in the hip.
The wounded man fled in his car and the police took him into custody after finding him near Cullen Boulevard.
Willkens said the father won’t bring charges, but the ex-boyfriend, who had an ankle monitor, will likely be charged with violating a protection order.
