Gentle Power Household Chiropractic ‘A Bridge To Wellbeing’ | information

There are times when life throws a complete curve ball, one that makes you wonder about what you ultimately want to do in the world.

That’s what happened to Dr. Sherry Meeks, a native of Milledgeville who graduated from Baldwin High School in 1982. Meeks founded with her practice partner Dr. Tracy Green, the Light Force Chiropractic, who has been based in Milledgeville for 20 years.

As Meeks recently explained, her path to becoming a chiropractor began while she was working in sales and started developing migraines from work stress.

“Basically, they did everything and no one could figure out how to get rid of my migraines,” Meeks said. “A friend of mine who worked with me told me to see a chiropractor about my migraines, and I did. That’s what got rid of my migraines, and that’s when I said I have to do what they do. “

She said she hadn’t had migraines in years.

Drs. Meeks and Green worked together in Savannah after graduating in 1998 until they decided to relocate their practice to Milledgeville in 2001. The Light Force Family Chiropractic offers various services for the region.

“Of course we do chiropractic adjustments. In addition, we also do some “modalities”, as I like to call them. Although the modalities themselves are not necessarily part of chiropractic, but are complementary services, they actually improve the customization for humans, ”Meeks explained. “So we do electrical muscle stimulation, traction, heat and ice. These are a couple of things … that actually help speed the healing of a chiropractic adjustment. ”

Each patient’s treatment plan usually depends on their individual needs and goals.

“If your goals are just to get over the pain, we’ll do everything we can to help you get there as soon as possible,” said Meeks. “Of course we want to help people understand how to incorporate chiropractic care as part of an overall healthy lifestyle. For this we shoot to help people avoid problems in the future, not just treat the fires, so to speak. We put out fires for people because some people just want to, but the vast majority of people want to find out how to keep their health back when they get back. “

Perhaps the best general description of the business comes from one of the catchphrases Meeks has used from time to time.

“Light Force is a bridge to wellbeing. So if people have the overall goal of achieving maximum wellbeing and health, Light Force is a bridge to help them get from where they are now to their ultimate goal. So our practice is a bridge to wellbeing, ”she said. The Light Force Family Chiropractic is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

When asked why she does what she does and what drives her every day, Meeks pointed out various things.

“I do what I do because I know that there is a force that made the body that can also heal the body, and if I can reconnect people with the force that makes us self-healing, self-regulating organisms, the body that has done will do its thing. It’s one of the things I know I do every day, ”Meeks said. “What keeps me going every day is jumping into my office like Tigger and keeping that energy flowing all day that I feed on. My practice keeps me going, my people, my co-workers who are so incredible, willing to sacrifice for our crazy whims, these things keep me going. “
