To celebrate April Fools Day on Thursday April 1st (although this is not a joke), King’s BierHaus, 2044 East TC Jester, will be transformed into King’s Cantina and will offer Tex-Mex classics and a festive Carne Asada drink menu from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tacos, cheese enchiladas, fish tacos, and more; and expect live music, full décor, and new uniforms for the occasion too.
Several bars and restaurants in Houston are offering Astros Opening Day Specials, $ 3 Astros Mango Margaritas Jax Grills three locations (Bellaire, Shepherd, Katy), games on the giant outdoor LED TV screen, and food from on Thursday April 1 Mexican Food Truck Authentic Rendition through 10pm Thursday and Friday evenings in the East End Backyard, 1105 Sampson; and a special on Orange Crush and Breggy Bomb Shots, and a special on a burger and pint of beer for $ 12 at Revelry on Richmond, 1613 Richmond.
Black Restaurant Week Houston’s Tasty Showcase will run from Friday April 2nd through Sunday April 11th with Prix Fixe brunch, lunch and dinner menus in participating restaurants in the area. This year’s participants include Cool Runnings Jamaican Grill, Lost and Found, Fainmous BBQ, Nyahs Pasta Kitchen, Craft Burger and The Funnel Cake House.
Owner Sylvia Casares attends her family breakfast get-togethers with a new breakfast menu in South Texas at Sylvias Enchilada Kitchen, 6401 Woodway, 1140 Eldridge Pkwy, which is open on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. Enjoy grilled pork chops with ranchera sauce, Migas, a taco platter, chorizo con huevos, papas con huevo, and huevos rancheros, plus morning favorites like pancakes and omelets.
The Tex Mex & Agave Bar in Galiana, 24110 Northwest Freeway Suite 500, is hosting a private Tequila & Wine Dinner in the restaurant on Wednesday, April 7th at 7pm. Guests enjoy a welcome drink followed by three courses paired with premium tequila cocktails and wine with highlights such as avocado stuffed with crab and prawns, carne asada with chipotle sauce and cajeta volcano a la Mode.
