Greenville Mayor Steve Willman presents Dr. Kristene Clark issued a proclamation declaring October “National Chiropractic Health Month”.
GREENVILLE – Greenville Mayor Steve Willman, along with the American Chiropractic Association, have made October National Chiropractic Health Month.
According to the proclamation, the sedentary lifestyle has increased the number of musculoskeletal disorders such as lower back and joint pain over the years due to technological advances and last year with the COVID-19 pandemic and the increase in remote working. A survey by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in March 2021 found that the prevalence of adults with anxiety or a depressive disorder increased from 36.4 to 41.5 percent between August 2020 and February 2021.
Research shows that physical activity offers several important health benefits, including helping with weight loss, increasing bone and muscle strength, lowering blood pressure and cholesterol, and reducing the risk of heart disease and stroke. Research also shows that physical activity also provides valuable mental health benefits by reducing the risk of anxiety and depression, and improving sleep and quality of life.
Chiropractic doctors are health care providers at the medical level who, as part of their practical, drug-based approach to pain therapy and health promotion, focus on the whole person and have special expertise in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal diseases that can inhibit movement and physical activity.
Dr. Kristene Clark, owner of the Johnston Chiropractic Clinic, was also present at the signing. Dr. Clark points out that good spinal health enables the body to respond in healthy and appropriate ways because it is designed to heal itself. Eliminating disturbances along the spinal system allows better communication between the brain and the rest of the body. This allows for better healing and function in the body. Chiropractic doctors are trained to address spinal problems, and proper spinal health ensures our nation has a healthier, more productive population.
Everyone should be aware of the benefits of spinal care and the effects it has on our health.
The Johnston Chiropractic Clinic is committed to providing quality care to our citizens.
In honor of the National Chiropractic Health Month, Dr. Clark will offer first-day services including medical history, evaluation, and counseling to new patients in October for a fee of $ 35. Dr. Clark will in turn donate these funds to the Darke County Cancer Association. (Workers’ Comp., PI Cases, and Medicaid are excluded. First day service does not include x-ray or fitting costs.)
