Take a look at a few of Houston’s finest residential structure on this weekend’s AIA House Tour

Another weekend brings another journey home, and this time it’s a showcase of the best of the best in residential architecture. This comes from the American Institute of Architects Houston, which annually exhibits private houses designed by experienced Houston architects. This year’s tour, which runs from Friday October 19 to Saturday October 20, includes eight properties selected by a jury of industry experts.

From a state-of-the-art retreat for Montrose nests to a restored colonial revival around 1909, the homes on the 2019 tour are stylish. The AIA tour gives the public the rare opportunity to go to any lustful lodging, and each year around 3,000 people take up the offer.

“It is one thing to walk past these stunning homes from the outside and admire them, but a completely heightened experience to step inside and be captivated by the remarkable thoughts and talents that went into each design,” says Rusty Bienvenue, Executive Director of AIA Houston.

Tickets cost $ 25 per person online through Thursday, October 17, 4pm. then $ 35 on the weekend of the tour (or $ 20 / prepayment, $ 30 / weekend for cyclists, and $ 15 / prepayment, $ 20 / weekend for children 12 and under). Single home tickets are $ 10 and are only available during the day at one of the participating properties during tour times (12 p.m. to 6 p.m.).
