Take into account chiropractic therapy for again ache throughout Spinal Well being Week | Forbes Advocate
With the prevalence of back pain being a real burden, Australians are urged to consider all of their health options when it comes to treating and intervening for back pain.
According to the Institute for Health and Welfare, around 4 million Australians (16 percent of the population) have back problems. It is also estimated that 70 to 90 percent of people will experience back pain at some point in their life.
The President of the Australian Chiropractors Association (ACA), Dr. Anthony Coxon (Chiropractor) believed that while pain is the main symptom, lower back pain is the leading cause of disability worldwide.
“Whether people experience pain from bad habits like inactivity or an exercise injury, they have options like chiropractic to get back to their best selves,” said Dr. Coxon.
A recent survey by the ACA found that 40 percent of respondents said they had back pain because a third of the Australian workforce had worked from home in the past year.
The same survey also found that a third of people living with pain, including back pain, admit that they have less exercise and mobility (32.6 percent), which has a significant impact on quality of life, including working life, social life and mental health.
“Since back pain is a major cause of disability, it is important that our community understands all of their options for managing their pain and that chiropractic care can be a viable option for them,” said Dr. Coxon.
The ACA will be held this Spine Health Week from May 24th to 30th with the topic “Back pain? Consider a chiro ‘.
“We work with our patients to tailor their care accordingly using a variety of nonsurgical techniques and a practical approach to health care backed by scientific studies from around the world,” said Dr. Coxon.
Dr. Coxon also suggested using chiropractic as a preventive health option for those looking to keep a healthy back.
They offer exercise programs, lifestyle advice, and support to incorporate positive health habits into your daily life.
Implementing positive spine health care, including good posture and regular exercise, is important to maintaining spine health and preventing back pain. ACA chiropractors can help support these practices.
The ACA has developed apps like Just Start Walking and Straighten Up that can help improve your spinal health and general wellbeing by making it easier to incorporate good habits into your lifestyle. The apps are available in the App Store and Google Play.
