John Lawler died of a broken neck after receiving chiropractic treatment

The family of a man who died of a broken neck after undergoing chiropractic surgery wants the chiropractor to be tried in criminal justice.

John Lawler, 80, from the UK, died in August 2017, Fox News reports. He was in the middle of a chiropractic treatment when he suddenly couldn’t feel his arms anymore, relatives say. He died of a broken neck in a hospital the next day.

This was Lawler’s third appointment with the chiropractor for treatment of back and leg pain. A relative who was in the room during treatment said he shouted, “You hurt me! I can’t feel my arms!”

The UK authorities have decided that there is no basis on which to file criminal charges.
