The Wesley Community Center’s Wesley Club Wrestling Program won first place at the Houston Nationals Wrestling Tournament in Houston in January.

Richard Davila and Josiah Pena won the title of World Wrestling Champion in their division in 2012.

The club earned the title of West Region Champion for 2012 and took second place at Edge of Texas Nationals in El Paso.

The Wesley Wrestling team has been wrestling for 13 years with 100 participants for the 2012-13 season. The program is aimed at children aged 4 to 16 years.

Coach Tony Hernandez and his team of volunteer coaches work countless hours and hundreds of miles to support the young wrestlers.
